You get a much better selection at the Beafeater! From a travel perspective it's well located on the A2 Belfast Road but it's not a quality location as it is absorbed within a retail park. Definitely lacking in choice, imagination and quality. The cooked part of the breakfast wasn't bad but the accompaniments every day comprised of tinned satsuma segments, tinned grapefruit segments, tinned prunes, yogurt, a handful of cereal choices, toast and apple & orange juices. Or from the pictures on the hotel website. Very 1960's and definitely not what I expected at this price position. The shower was over the bath with a very unhygenic shower curtain and rubber bath slip mat. Soap, combined shower gel and shampoo came courtesy of dispensers on the wall.

The curtains just about covered the draughty windows. The bed and pillows were nowhere near as comfortable. We upgraded at extra cost for a so called Executive Room but in reality it was almost identical to that of a standard Premier Inn room in terms of its layout and amenities. Staff great but we paid a significant premium to stay in this hotel and the facilities are no better than those of a Premier Inn. All in all, would eat here again, but management please acknowledge the lack of my favourite yorkshires.… Loughshore wins with the cold starters and desserts. Comparing the 2 hotels, Templeton comes out better with the hot starters and main meal. The staff were superb, empty plates removed super fast, well done. Always hard, that one, as it is in flasks, but needs more checking to ensure it is hot. No Yorkshires, if you have roast beef, then there must be yorkshire with it!!!.

Main meal, 4 choices of meat, plus the usual veg. The hot starters only 3 choices, chicken wings, garlic bread & cocktail sausages. Lovely large room, taken to our table (it is slightly cheaper if you book & pay in advance, rather than just turn up) explained how the system worked and left to get on with it. They also do the 5 course carvery, but at a slightly cheaper rate. We normally use the Sunday Carvery at the Templeton Hotel, but is closed at the moment for renovations. I won't be booking anymore functions at this hotel and feel I was put under unnecessary stress over the room hire, which with a complete bill off £285 wasn't cheap.… I brought my receipt in case of any further mix up and the Imperial Suite was waiting for me.The hotel is getting a two star instead of a one star review as the buffet and staff serving were good. I turned up at 12.30 yesterday to set up for my Mum's party unsure what to find. Shortly after I got another email to say the Church group had been moved to the smaller Fergus suite, goodness knows how they felt and that I now had the room I was promised. I stood my ground and said I would wait with my guests in the foyer for the Imperial room to be available. My mind now at rest I thought I would just email to double check a month ago and was told the Imperial suite had been hired out that morning to a Church group and could I take the smaller (unsuitable for 25 people and toddlers) Fergus Suite as they wouldn't have time to sort the room for my 1 pm to 4 pm party. I went in in person and met the Event organiser who showed me the less suitable Fergus Suite, then relented and showed me the large first floor Imperial Suite which I was glad to get. A few months later I noticed from the road that the room I had hired and paid for had been converted into a cafe. The hotel did not contact me about this and when I emailed them they told me they were going to tell me at a later date, a date after which I would have sent out invites detailing the room location.

I then paid in full for the room hire and a buffet for 25 people. I choose the bigger Carrick Suite, on the ground floor, rather than the smaller Fergus Suite they offered me. I called in person at the hotel in March 2019 to hire a room for my Mum's 70th Birthday party, for 23rd February 2020.
